Anna Budanova BIO

Anna Budanova is an artist and an animation filmmaker based in Paris, France. She was born in 1988 in Ekaterinburg. Anna studied in the Animation Department at the Ural State Architecture and Arts Academy and worked as an artist and an animator taking part in making of various films.

With her projects Anna was in several residencies for animated films: Japic residency in Tokyo, Maison des Auteurs in Angouleme, CICLIC - Center-Val de Loire Region.

Her works have been presented in international contemporary art exhibitions (Japan Media Arts Festival, Muji gallery, Aomori Prefectural Art Museum). Anna was one of four selected directors who created an audiovisual concert called The Four Seasons Animation Concert (Japan).

She is the author and the director of several award-winning animated short films screened in a great number of international film festivals (including Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy, Ottawa, Hiroshima).

Her films have received more than fifty awards and honors from around the world, among others, Special Jury Award International Animation Film Festival Annecy, Cinanima - Grand Prize, Hiroshima prize, Grand Prix Anima Brussel, International Animation Film Festival Fantoche - Best Visual Award, New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival - Grand Prize.
